Arturo Márquez is the most recognizable Mexican composer of modern times. His music is favored by conductors and orchestras the world over, including our own Gustavo Dudamel of the Los Angeles Philharmonic. Join us for this rare and exclusive opportunity to meet and greet with the maestro himself and to enter a discussion with him and the presenting musicologist, Omar Ávalos of Santa Ana College.

Felipe Castañeda is a world renowned sculptor. His sculptures capture the essence and sensuality of the Mexican woman in a very particular way. His works have been exhibited at the Biennale di Venezia (Venice, Italy) and are on permanent display in museums in Mexico, the United States and Israel. Mr. Castañeda is a Member of the Senate of the International Academy of Modern Art in Rome, Italy.

Sergio O’Cadiz was one of the most representative painters and sculptors of the Chicano movement. Some of his best known works are the sculpture “Sunburst” commissioned for the City of Brea’s Civic & Cultural Center and the relief on the façade of Santa Ana City Hall. He is listed in the Smithsonian Institution Research Information System. A presentation on Mr. O’Cadiz will be given by his daughter Pilar O’Cadiz, a Research Specialist for the Department of Education at UC Irvine.
